ヴィヴァルディ 「四季」 のソネット

他の記事が長くなってしまいますので、ヴィヴァルディ「四季」 に付いているソネット原語 (イタリア語) と、今回のコンサートで使用したヴァイオリン譜に載っている英語訳、家にある楽譜に書かれている日本語訳 (訳者の記載なし) を、別記事としてここに掲載します。

原語のソネットは、イタリア語のウィキペディアからの転載です。
文法が違うため、イタリア語、英語、日本語は必ずしも対訳になっているわけではありません。

こちらの記事でも少し触れましたが、ソネット Sonnet は14行からなるヨーロッパの定型詩で、ルネサンス期にイタリアで始まりました。 韻を踏むのが特徴です。
イタリア語の各行の最後の単語を比較すると、よくわかりますね。

このソネットがヴィヴァルディ本人によるものかどうかは、定かではないそうです。
曲にぴったり合っているので、きっと彼自身が書いたのだろうと信じたいですが・・・

こんなもの誰も読まないかな~と思いながらも、演奏した記念にまとめて記録しておきます。
イタリア語英語日本語の3ヶ国語で 「四季」 のソネットを比較しているサイトはみつからなかったので、どなたかのお役に立つかもねっ♪

         “La primavera Spring 春”

        <Allegro>

      Giunt' è la Primavera e festosetti
        Spring has arrived merrily
          春がやってきた。
      La Salutan gl' Augei con lieto canto,
        the birds hail her with happy song
          小鳥たちは嬉しそうに歌って、春に挨拶する。
      E i fonti allo Spirar de' Zeffiretti
        and, meanwhile, at the breath of the Zephyrs,
          泉はそよ風に合わせて、
      Con dolce mormorio Scorrono intanto:
        the streams flow with a sweet murmur:
          やさしくささやきながら流れ出す。
      Vengon' coprendo l'aer di nero amanto
        thunder and lightning, chosen to proclaim her,
          やがて空は暗くなり、
      E Lampi, e tuoni ad annuntiarla eletti
        come covering the sky with a black mantle,
          稲妻と雷鳴が襲ってくる。
      Indi tacendo questi, gl' Augelletti
        and then, when these fall silent, the little birds
          嵐が静まると、小鳥たちは再び
      Tornan di nuovo al lor canoro incanto:
        return once more to their melodious incantation:
          うれしそうに歌い出す。

        <Largo>

      E quindi sul fiorito ameno prato

        and so, on the pleasant, flowery meadow,
           花ざかりの美しい牧場では
      Al caro mormorio di fronde e piante
        to the welcome murmuring of fronds and trees,
          木々の葉がやさしくざわめき、
      Dorme 'l Caprar col fido can' à lato.
        the goatherd sleeps with his trusty dog beside him.
          羊飼いは忠実な犬をかたわらに眠っている。

        <Allegro>

      Di pastoral Zampogna al suon festante

        To the festive sound of a shepherd's bagpipe,
          牧歌的な牧笛の陽気な調べに合わせて
      Danzan Ninfe e Pastor nel tetto amato
        nymphs and shepherds dance beneath the beloved roof
          ニンフと羊飼いは踊る、
      Di primavera all'apparir brillante.
        at the joyful appearance of spring.
          輝くばかりの装いの春の中に。

         “L'estate Summer 夏”

        <Allegro non molto>

      Sotto dura stagion dal sole accesa
        Beneath the harsh season inflamed by the sun,
          太陽が焼けつくように照るこの厳しい季節に、
      Langue l’huom, langue ‘l gregge, ed arde ‘l pino,
        Man languishes, the flock languishes, and the pine tree burns;
          人も家畜も元気を失い、松の木さえも暑がっている。
      Scioglie il cucco la voce, e tosto intesa
        the cuckoo unleashes its voice and, as soon as it is heard,
          かっこうが鳴き始め、そしてしきりに
      Canta la tortorella e ‘l gardellino.
        the turtle dove sings and the goldfinch too.
          山鳩とごしきひわが歌う。
      Zeffiro dolce spira, ma contesa
        Sweet Zephyrus blows, but Boreas suddenly
          やさしいそよ風を追い払って、
      Muove Borea improvviso al suo vicino;
        opens a dispute with his neighbour,
          突然に北風が襲いかかる。
      E piange il Pastorel, perché sospesa
        and the shepherd weeps, for the fears
          羊飼いは泣く。 荒れ狂う嵐の恐怖と、
      Teme fiera borasca, e ‘l suo destino;
        a fierce storm looming - and his destiny;
          自分の不運に怖れおののいて。

        <Adagio>

      Toglie alle membra lasse il suo riposo
        The fear of lightning and fierce thunder
          羊飼いは疲れたからだを休めることもできない。
      Il timore de’ lampi, e tuoni fieri
        and the furious swarm of flies and blowflies
          稲妻とはげしい雷鳴、
      E de mosche, e mosconi il stuol furioso:
        deprives his weary limbs of repose.
          そして蚊や蝿の怒り狂う群れにおびやかされて。

        <Presto>

      Ah che pur troppo i suoi timor sono veri
        Oh alas! his fears are only too true.
          ああ、彼が恐れていたとおりになった。
      Tuona e fulmina il cielo grandinoso
        The sky thunders, flares, and with hailstones
          空は稲妻、雷鳴、はては雹や霰まで降らせ、
      Tronca il capo alle spiche e a’ grani alteri.
        severs the heads of the proud grain crops.
          熟した果物や穀物の穂をみなたたきつぶす。

         “L'autunno Autumn 秋”

        <Allegro>

      Celebra il Vilanel con balli e Canti
        The preasant celebrates in dance and song
          村人たちは踊りと歌で
      Del felice raccolto il bel piacere
        the sweet pleasure of the rich harvest
          恵まれた収穫を喜び祝う。
      E del liquor di Bacco accesi tanti
        and, fired by Bacchus' liquor,
          バッカスの酒のおかげでこんなにわき立ち、
      Finiscono col Sonno il lor godere
        many end their enjoyment in slumber.
          みんな眠りこけるまで楽しむ。

        <Adagio>

      Fa' ch' ogn' uno tralasci e balli e canti
        The air, which, fresher now, lends contentment,
          一同が踊りと歌をやめたあとには
      L' aria che temperata dà piacere,
        and the season which invites so many
          秋の穏やかな空気がこころよい。
      E la Staggion ch' invita tanti e tanti
        to the great pleasure of the sweetest slumber,
          そしてこの季節はあまい眠りで、
      D' un dolcissimo sonno al bel godere.
        make each one abandon dance and song.
          すべての者を気持ちの良い憩いへと誘う。

        <Allegro>

      I cacciator alla nov'alba à caccia
        At the new dawn the hunters set out on the hunt
          夜明けになると、狩人たちは狩りに出かける、
      Con corni, Schioppi, e cani escono fuore
        with horns, guns and dogs.
          角笛と鉄砲を持ち、猟犬たちを連れて。
      Fugge la belva, e Seguono la traccia;
        The wild beast flees, and they follow its track;
          けものはすでにおびえ、騒がしい。
      Già Sbigottita, e lassa al gran rumore
        already bewildered, and wearied by the great noise
          鉄砲の音と犬の声に
      De' Schioppi e cani, ferita minaccia
        of the guns and dogs, wounded,
          疲れ果て傷つき、おののいている。
      Languida di fuggir, mà oppressa muore.
        it threatens weakly to escape, but, overwhelmed, dies.
          もはや逃げる力もなく、追い詰められて倒れる。

         “L'inverno Winter 冬”

        <Allegro non molto>

      Agghiacciato tremar tra nevi algenti
        To shiver, frozen, amid icy snows,
          冷たい雪の中の凍りつくような寒さ。
      Al Severo Spirar d'orrido Vento,
        at the harsh wind's chill breath;
          吹きすさぶ荒々しい風の中を行く。
      Correr battendo i piedi ogni momento;
        to run, stamping one's feet at every moment;
          絶え間なく足踏みしながら走り、
      E pel Soverchio gel batter i denti;
        with one's teeth chattering on account of the excessive cold;
          あまりの寒さに歯の根が合わない。

        <Largo>

      Passar al foco i dì quieti e contenti
        to pass the days of days of calm and contentment by the fireside
          炉端で静かに満ち足りた日々を送り、
      Mentre la pioggia fuor bagna ben cento
        while the rain outside drenches a hundred others;
          その間、外では雨が万物をうるおす。

        <Allegro>

      Caminar sopra il ghiaccio, e a passo lento
        to walk on the ice, and with slow steps
          ゆっくりとした足取りで氷の上を歩く。
      Per timor di cader girsene intenti;
        to move about cautiously for fear or falling;
          転ばないように注意深く進んでゆく。
      Gir forte Sdrucciolar, cader a terra
        to go fast, slip, fall to the ground;
          乱暴に歩いて、すべって倒れる。
      Di nuovo ir sopra'l ghiaccio e correr forte
        to go on the ice again and run fast
          また起き上がって、氷の上を激しい勢いで走る。
      Sin ch'il ghiaccio si rompe, e si disserra;
        until the ice cracks and breaks open;
          氷が砕け、裂け目ができるほど激しく。
      Sentir uscir dalle ferrate porte
        to hear, as they sally forth through the iron-clad gates,
          閉ざされた扉の外に出て、
      Scirocco, Borea, e tutti i venti in guerra
        Sirocco, Boreas, and all the winds at war.
          南風、北風、あらゆる風が戦っているのを聴く。
      Quest'è'l verno, ma tal, che gioia apporte.
        This is winter, but of a kind to bring joy.
          これが冬なのだ。 でも、何という喜びをもたらすのだろう。

ミネソタの冬がどんなに長くても、やはり四季がある国に住めるのは幸せだと思っています。
春の喜びは、厳しい冬があるからこそです。
常夏の国も魅力的ですが、ずっといると飽きてしまいそう・・・

      お役に立てて幸いです。
      そうですね、日本とはだいぶ違う風景が描かれていますが、
      私の住むミネソタでは寒さが厳しいため、特に「冬」には大いに感情移入できます。
      3月の演奏会のご成功を、お祈りしています♪
